Re: Andy's Postbag and random ebay links

Actually I messed up in my calc on the upper frequency, wheel rev frequency would be double what I said (wheels turn as ratio of engine RPM and not a multiple of cylinders firing per second). I'll leave it up to the readers to carry out a statistical analysis of average tyre block count - 50 was a w...

Re: Andy's Postbag and random ebay links

Hmm, intresting problem.... Most cars will be be keeping revs between 2000 & 3000 at normal running speeds. 4 stroke engine means 2 of the 4 cylinders are firing per revolution, so that means anywhere between 80hz or 100hz when moving from rpm to fires per second. Gearbox will probably be in 4th...

Re: STM32GENERIC, my arduino implementation

Have you uploaded a sketch via st-link? SerialUSB won't work until after that.

Re: STM32GENERIC, my arduino implementation

Just tried again with other USB converter (CH340): Daniel's "low level" code works SerialUART1 does not work (garbage output) SerialUART2 works ! So something has been "off" yesterday on my computer. I believe my FTDI chip has some problems (there's no other explanation) Either ...

Re: STM32GENERIC, my arduino implementation

You could try the examples from the Discovery F407VG folder. Many of them like analogReadSerial should also work on other boards, when you adapt the pin setting. It helps to avoid problems like the one before you had with pinMode(xx,ANALOG_INPUT) because it is described in the example. Will do. I'm...

Re: STM32GENERIC, my arduino implementation

Uploaded via st-link, I now see a USB serial port, will hook up a SPI screen to see if anything that I expect is actually going on :D

Re: STM32GENERIC, my arduino implementation

I take it analogue GPIO isn't implemented yet? Actually it was the definition of INPUT_ANALOG that was missing.... I thought I'd test compile my main project against GENERIC to see what was broken, and the following fails: for (int x = 7; x < 11; x++) { pinMode(x, INPUT_ANALOG); } Other things ...
