Re: Magnetic scale to Chinese DRO

So my first attempt will be the following
I will use the STM32 to read the magnetic rule with the encoder. i will generate a step/dir that will be sent to a L297 which will send the quadrature signal.
This is the theory, let's see if it's work or not. Waiting for L297

Re: Magnetic scale to Chinese DRO

I spent time thinking on point 2 Chinese DRO has the asset of accepting multiple resolution: 0.1 micron, 0.5 micron, 1mic, 2, and more So when I receive a pulse from my sensor, I know it's 1.95microns so I should send 19 pulses with 0.1mic resolution and the remaining error could be corrected by the...

Re: Magnetic scale to Chinese DRO

Yes exactly. 1. Encoder input signal is quadrature encoder which is easy to read with stm32. 2. The signal received is based on 512 pulse per millimeters and I need one of 500 pulse /mm 3. I need to send the signal from the STM32 to the DRO. Apparently this is also a quadrature signal, they mention ...

Re: Magnetic scale to Chinese DRO

Thank you for your help.
Unfortunately, I can't change the magnetic scale due to lathe size so I'm stick with this solution
My main issue is to know how to send TTL signal and when. logically it should be high for each pulse I guess but I don't really know how to proceed

Magnetic scale to Chinese DRO

Hi everyone, I'm trying to develop a small project based on STM32. I want a DRO on my lathe and it's too small for normal scale. The only solution I found was on a forum where someone took a magnetic scale from AMS and the sensor. This works really fine but the display is on a small screen and I wou...

Rotary encoder timer interrupt - STM32F103C8T6

Hi Everyone, I'm struggling to make a timer interrupt for my rotary encoder I only use keil with my STM32F103C8T6 (aka blue pill ?) If it was working properly, I would expect my variable codeur to increase and the value to written on the LCD Do you have any idea where it comes from? (everything else...

Re: project presentation - advice required (LCD I2C, stepper, Rotary encoder)

I'm not sure to understand everything but I will work on it.
The only thing I need to be sure is the possibility to adapt stepper speed depending of RPM value of the lathe, and this in real time

project presentation - advice required (LCD I2C, stepper, Rotary encoder)

Hi everyone, Just a quick presentation: I learnt everything by myself based on what I read on Internet. I only did project on arduino, except my last where I used STM32 on arduino IDE without any major issue. I always used libraries as it's very convenient and a huge time saver for me. Here is my pr...

Re: STM32F103C8 attachinterrupt

Thank you for your input, this is only for debug ;9
This is removed in the final sketch
