Re: GD32F103VET6 board

After loading the GD32duino bootloader from STM32 ST-Link utility, I compiled and uploaded via USB a blink sketch from Arduino (selecting GD32F103C8 board). Then, I tried again to connect the board via SWD, from STM32 ST-Link utility. The connection worked only after setting 'connect under reset' - ...

Re: GD32F103VET6 board

Thanks, Roger.
Update: USB upload worked, finally, with GD32duino. There was a bad soldering on USB pins of the chip, that I managed to repair.
Now I can confirm that GD32F103VET6 is pin compatible with STM32F103VCT6 and works with GD32duino.

Re: [SOLVED] cannot flash the bootloader

@stevestrong: Glad to help you
Maybe the chinese wanted to protect some very precious piece of software - e.g. LED blink :D
I think the issue of USB pull-up resistor value has been discussed before: indeed, 10k is high, I have seen many times 4k7 and it works..

Re: cannot flash the bootloader

I am using a USB to serial adapter for uploading .. Which alternative methods can I use to live up the boards? I don't have any ST-link device. You can try STMFlashLoader demo program...I suppose you know it. Try to connect and check if your target is readable via USB-serial. I remember that I had ...

Re: GD32F103VET6 board

The schematic was posted in this topic: http://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=821 Specifically, the board schematic is: 1-STM32F103VET6mini.PDF, i.e. http://www.stm32duino.com/download/file.php?id=367 I see that the pullup resistor on USB is present. The STM32duino bootloader works fine whe...

Re: GD32F103VET6 board

Did you make a new board variant folder etc? No, not yet. First, I uploaded the STM32duino bootloader to the blank GD32F103VET6 chip (keeping the 8MHz crystal), using the ST-Link Utility program. Then, I switched to USB connection and opened Arduino, selected STM32F103V variant and tried to compile...

Re: GD32F103VET6 board

I tried, but didn't succeed, so far..The upload of bootloader via St-Link was successful..but couldn't make USB upload work: got 'USB not recognized' message..Other boards with STM32 chips are recognized as Maple serial port..

Re: Red/Blue pill with GD32F103CBT6

..I think I damaged one or two of the pads on the Maple mini.. It happened to me too in my first try. One trace was peeled off when I tried to remove a solder bridge (too much heat applied, forgot to change the temperature setting on the soldering station from 350C down to 300C). I destroyed a red ...

Re: Red/Blue pill with GD32F103CBT6

I didn't remove the solder from the pads, just applied flux and 're-distribute' the solder uniformly with the soldering iron.
You're right Roger, having a bare board and a brand new chip would make it easier to solder.
BTW, just got a working red pill using the same procedure as for the blue pill.
