Re: Trying to implement power savings - programming question

To switch the main cpu clock frequencies on-fly is possible with stm32, I did it in past but in mecrisp forth (BluePill). I did a loop while switching between for example 72/8/48MHz and it worked fine, not crashing. Except you have to use a complete PLL frequency setup routine (as you may see in cor...

Re: SD / Memory bottleneck, any ideas?

@ipsilondev: try to run the "bench.ino" test from SdFat repo. Use only 512bytes buffer and SdFatEx. Download the latest https://github.com/greiman/SdFat On SPI2 (max 18MHz) you could achieve ~1.7MB/s write and ~1.6MB/s read max with the measurements we did. On SPI1 (36MHz) the double. That test may ...

Re: Libmaple problem, program crashes with call to malloc.

Rick, pls be so kind and first read this thread carefully, before you decide TO DELETE IT.
There is all information required you would need to practically help Bill with his issue.

Re: Libmaple problem, program crashes with call to malloc.

No, Rick, you mess this thread and you introducing a chaos :)
We asking our colleagues since ever tho run the above malloc test called BubbleSort.
Just run it and give us your results pls.
We appreciate your effort.

Re: Libmaple problem, program crashes with call to malloc.

Roger's latest repo , downloaded 10mins back, default opt, Sloeber, F1, MapleMini

Code: Select all

Allocating EXRAM32 memory..
@Rick: could you post your results (full) with the test sketch pls? (BEFORE YOU DELETE THIS THREAD).. (deleting is easy).

Re: Libmaple problem, program crashes with call to malloc.

Victor, above is with Libmaple F4, the Libmaple allocates from address 8 here, Daniel's from 0x20000C78. The Libmaple F1 crashes such I cannot get the address printed out. ( I do not have debugger handy these days). Try to run the above sketch on MMini/BluePill or any other board (sketch prepared fo...

Re: Libmaple problem, program crashes with call to malloc.

I ran the test sketch http://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=2073&p=27839#p27839 on BlackF407 and the malloc Allocates the memory "successfully" and returns the address of the start of the array /* EXRAM32 Initial memory allocation */ uint32_t* EXRAM32 = (uint32_t*) malloc(n * sizeof(uint32_...

Re: 2 MPU6050 for STM32

What would be the data throughput from both I2C1 and I2C2 at 1K samples per second?
How big (in bytes) is 1 sample?
Is that even feasible via 400kHz I2C clocked buses?

Re: Libmaple problem, program crashes with call to malloc.

You seem to misunderstand how community / open software development works The process is that you submit a fix via a PR to github, this is then reviewed by the community via a thread on the forum This may work in a community of Experts who deal with the code at almost expert level. "Arduino" commun...
