Re: news: Arduino STAR OTTO development board

This is going to be a "Ray" post which essentially means I am going to speculate and possibly annoy some: Ever wonder why there were browser wars? It is a rhetorical question... puts yourhands down, no typing required - I will tell you. "Metadata." --SNIP-- I could be wrong... but, I bet I am not :...

Re: news: Arduino STAR OTTO development board

I just looked at the ST site. I read it as this is going to use the .org Web based tool. Probably something like MBED. Shame. So no way to use their core files ... You could always try and ask ST more details about this if you're going to Maker Faire, couldn't you? Maybe they can offer the core-fil...

Re: news: Arduino STAR OTTO development board

Actual official support for STM32 under Arduino? Wow, that's kind of big news. Show me the github ;-) Considering the press-release reads "First demos at Bay Area Maker Faire, May 20-22" it looks like they don't have the code in the Github-repo yet. At least I don't see anything related to STM32 at...

Re: SPI-3 wires

Arduino was invented to be easy to use and faster coding not wasting valuable time. The STM32 standary library is too low level to start aligning sheets of code only for initialize and toggle one single pin,For this reason the Arduino was perfect choice imo . But it is not useful to tell every Ardu...

You're not wrong, uploading stuff with ST-Link is in no way or form dependant on there being a bootloader at all.

Re: SPI-3 wires

does st.com spi hardware support it? Yes, the reference-manual says "This mode is enabled by setting the BIDIMODE bit in the SPI_CR1 register. In this mode SCK is used for the clock and MOSI in master or MISO in slave mode is used for data ncommunication. The transfer direction (Input/Output) is se...
