Re: ST-Link Vs Jlink

Note. STLink on some Nucleo boards also has USB to Serial, and I think some have USB Mass storage as well Every NUCLEO supports the USB Mass Storage program load. This is seriously underrated by the crowd here. It allows you to flash the target MCU without any custom host side software. You just dr...

Re: ST-Link Vs Jlink

When you say it isn't toy .. what makes it not a toy? I get the feeling the Segger guys have been making an extreme profit for a long time because there wasn't any low cost alternatives. Their willingness recently to offer a low cost version seems to not because they care, but because they are getti...

Re: some sectors are write protected

ohh...yes. Sorry for that. But i did mentioned stm32f103c8t6. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"... Maybe those words ring true with Shakespeare and love. Unfortunately, the name of the board is important here. I hate wasting my time on this kind of confusion. Why do people find it so ...

Re: some sectors are write protected

I guess I'm not sure what @dev is trying to accomplish. Does he want to use the stlink as his preferred method of programming or is he just trying to load the bootloader onto the maple mini. From what he wrote it appears he wants to use the stlink as his programming method and he also want to use th...

Re: some sectors are write protected

Using the Aduino IDE with the maple mini and expecting to use the stlink device as a programmer and using the native USB is just an exercise in frustration. For the maple mini, there is no upload method option using Stlink, Black Magic Probe, or Serial. This is for good reason, if you upload using a...

Re: Red Pill or Blue Pill?

All my red pills have broken USB connectors, so I am still not sure if they are worth buying unless they now use a stronger usb connector That is exactly the problem. It also the reason I penned this redpill vs bluepill post in the first place. I have 5 red pills with perfectly good pullup and usb ...

Re: IceStamp FPGA in DIL28 and UPduino in DIL32

The Zylin's ZPU example (but with ~half bram size than the HX8K set in source, needs some fine tuning) fits easily into UPduino That looks interesting however it seems like development on it has stalled. Is there someplace that talks about that softcore. Everything I found seems to have cooled off ...

Re: simpler black magic probe in platform.txt

Normally I run putty as a terminal program when I'm using serial output. However, lately I've been trying to use the features offered by the Arduino IDE. The setup for Black Magic Probe uploading isn't optimal. I was thinking it would make more sense if we specified the BMP upload port in the boards...
