just found a cortex m3 wifi SOM for 2$

i was wondering if i should post it here, but i basically found a stamp sized cortex m3 running at 80mhz (or higher by overclocking) with 512k ram, 1024k flash, onboard wifi for 2$ (stamp module only, for custom pcb's), or $3,50 (including breadboard adapter, assembled). for a uart programmer you'd ...

Re: STM32L4 Core

hey, i'm back after a while, wondering if the STM32L496 will be supported in the future sometime :P it has less uA/mhz power consumption (320k), more sram and more flash (up to 1mb) also, does anyone have an example on how to put the flash ic into XIP (or similar) mode, as the datasheet says it can,...

Re: STM32L4 Core

sorry for the late response ^^; you said the platform is open? if so, why not the bootloader? (just questioning) I am not sure what you are referring to with the "bootloader". We do use the regular onchip "STM32 BOOTLOADER" to reflash the user flash (which would be under ST's control). All the rest...

Re: STM32L4 Core

1: custom ide with pointers to the api functions (the mcu core will have the mpu enabled to limit app's ram and access), with precompiled app flashing over usb raw hid, bluetooth or from a MicroSD(?). 2: so basically you're saying that the pebble smartwatches have much latency? i think not, they fit...

Re: STM32L4 Core

uThe QSPI flash is setup as a FAT file system, not as a flash extender. There are numerous reasons to do so. If the normal 512k flash runs out, one could always ask for a 1MB STM32L476 instead. Let me be clear: my aplication will be way too huge for 1MB Flash, as i want to offload my apps on my qsp...

Re: STM32L4 Core

no worries, just make sure you don't overwork yourself :) also, i have put this on a github page about stm32 external flash storage (just not sure if it'll work) in the linker script there needs to be: EXTFLASH (rw) : ORIGIN = 0x<start address>, LENGTH = 0x<length> in the MEMORY section, and the SEC...

Re: FrostedOS

this is basically the same idea as Stratify OS, (except stratify os is not for stm32 devices by default)

site of stratify os: http://stratifylabs.co/

note: this is the 'old' CoActionOS

Re: MENTOL-STM32 based SmartWatch

hey, just wondering why you chose that specific mcu? for example, if you were going for a STM32L4 you'd save more power, smaller package (smallest: qfn32), 64k ram, 256k flash for example, this can allow a offscreen framebuffer of 32k (128*128 bytes*2 (16bit)) example usages: antialias, alpha blendi...
