Re: Rogers postbag

back on the topic of solar panel power supplies, other than lipo, would 'super capacitors' make any sense? :) https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=super+capacitor&_sacat=0 it is rather amazing to see capacitance in F or even hundreds of F, i'm used to seeing rather bulky caps that goes like 1000uf :...

You wont get much revenue from me I'm afraid, my adblocker will bin the ads. agree that google ads only pay tiny pennies, a lot of traffic generates only very little revenue, But if there is already quite significant traffic, it may make some difference, not too sure if that would be worth it...

This is off topic, but I'm thinking given the traffic you may like to host google ads, they could in some ways help to lower the cost of running this, just 2c

Re: using blue pill for stepper control - related to 3d printers

oops a nema17 stepper i bidded on ebay arrived, i decided to go for the plain old and simple l298n i go for a module instead, it seemed the sum of the parts l298n, heat sink, diodes, caps, board, connectors (and they throw in a 78L05 regulator onboard) would actually cost more than simply buying the...

Re: using blue pill for stepper control - related to 3d printers

yup, i do agree that running off a single core mcu is probably the simpler approach doing so in a loop for the present firmwares like marlin etc however, one issue is that blue pills / maple minis has a rather limited number of pins, controlling a h-bridge directly would probably need 2 pins for eac...

Re: using blue pill for stepper control - related to 3d printers

while searching up ebay/aliexpress i noted that other than those pre-built breakout modules discrete l298n chips doesn't seem easily available on ebay / aliexpress https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=l298n&_sacat=0 is the l298n 'discontinued'? it still seemed a rather popular chip / monolithic (ste...

Re: What about making the Libmaple interrupt handlers "__weak"?

i think edogaldo's code snippets actually looked interesting, it would perhaps allow an isr from the sketch to live in flash rather than occupy some memory via attach_interrupt and often it means an additional call from the original isr with attach_interrupt i've not really studied libmaple's codes ...

wow Andy, keep your 1944 multimeter well, it is certainly an antique, who knows if one day you managed to auction it off for millions
