using blue pill for stepper control - related to 3d printers

with the recent interest in 3d printers has anyone thought about using blue pills as stepper motor controllers? The main motivation is *microstepping* and *higher currents* and *reducing* the number of interfacing *pins* for sure there are already the A4988 https://www.pololu.com/file/download/a4988...

Re: Introducing Sduino for the STM8

it seemed that a google search for sdcc and stm8 turns up quite a number of articles, are there any 'known' limitations / issues / problems of sdcc say vs the more 'commercial' compilers? it seemed with stm8s one of the main problem seem to be debug as stm8s don't do swd https://www.cnx-software.com...

Re: F405 & F411 versions of the BluePill

this would be a super powered blue pill or maple mini, maybe it's capable of 500mflops fpu power  i think permanent setting boot0 isn't a good solution after all, on the f407vet black, setting boot zero keeps it jumping to dfu each and every time on reset, no escape. i think on f4 it can be don...

Re: is GD32 chinese Cortex M4s a clone / relicensing of ST?

imho a main thing would be that the larger more established commercial enterprises would likely not use gd32 unless they can get pretty much 'free' or paid technical support and documents for it. but i guess that they would possibly target volume sales at the chinese local companies and offer suppor...

Re: f407vet6 & f407zet6

libmaple core may not be compatible across all stm32f4xx chips, but for some series e.g. stm32f407 it may well be a leaner and more efficient core, less or no ifdefs making the code cleaner / easier to maintain as well stm32generic and st's core would likely be compatible across more mcus even inclu...

Re: If I use STM32, do I need RaspberryPi as well?

ideally simply have both of them :D visited your post on the RPi usb camera project http://stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2651 with RPi you could interface a usb camera, for the lazy you could use say the canon camera or for that matter buy any usb cameras (e.g. from logitech) and plug that into...

Re: is GD32 chinese Cortex M4s a clone / relicensing of ST?

there are some suspense thriller detective stories about hacking SD cards https://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=3554 so as it turns out every SD card has an mcu in there my guess is that it probably isn't too surprising that some of these mcu on SD cards are after all ARM devices, and for that matte...
