The datasheet for the RC only shows 256K/48K ram, the RD is 384K/64K, and the RE is 512K/64K. Why do you say the RC has the same specs as the RE?

Iteadmaple dropped price - US$5.80

The Iteadmaple (Itead's Maple R5 clone) has dropped in price to US$5.80. I see Roger has left a review for one of these that said the reset button needed to be uploaded after an upload for the usb serial to work. I've got an Iteadmaple which doesn't require this extra step -- however, it may be an o...

Re: Arduino Studio

It has some other benefits also, the user can always have the latest and greatest compiler and header files and framework without having to maintain it themselves. Problem is, the latest ain't always the greatest. What if your once debugged code now no longer works properly with the latest version ...

Re: Genuino

Perhaps I haven't been following as closely as I should, but my understanding was the Genuino brand was separate from the Adafruit deal -- it simply reflects that Arduino.cc holds the trademark on "Arduino" in some markets, (e.g., US), and Arduino.org in others (e.g. Italy). The Adafuit deal reflect...

Re: 100 users ;-)

Something like this perhaps. its a rather odd looking thing, but it claims to be an RET6 and comes in around $6.67 Yes, odd indeed, but it does support the notion that a sub $10 RET6 board is not unrealistic. Although I note that the TaoBao pricing is usually a bit better than the prices for same p...

Re: 100 users ;-)

the bare RET6 processor is pretty cheap. Yes, this is what I was referring to... with prices like these for qty 1, I would expect it would be possible to see a RET6 board for sale that is <$10. Unfortunately, no-one producing stm32 boards seems to be pursuing this -- the only RET boards I've seen t...

Re: 100 users ;-)

For me, the Maple Mini clones are just another part in the toolkit. They may fit some projects better than an AVR chip, others not. One thing I like about the AVR chips is the range from the attiny85 up to the atmega1284p. With 128kb flash and 16K sram, the 1284p actually is pretty comparable with t...

Re: uProcessor for robotic project

pico, I did consider Teensy 3.1, it does seem much more mature with good support. However, it might not have enough pins, The Teensy 3.1 has and extra 10 digital pins and 2 analog pins available on "pads" on the underside of the board. (The LC doesn't have this feature.) So 23 digital pins and 14 a...

Re: 1.6.5r2 working with Maple Mini!!!

Note: One quirk I've found in 1.6.5r2 is that preferences.txt wont accept an absolute path for the sketchbook folder, only a relative path.

So, in my case, ..\MySketches works, but entering c:\arduino\MySketches, or \arduino\MySketches doesn't.

Not a show stopper by any means, but weird.

Re: 1.6.5r2 working with Maple Mini!!!

Windows seemed to let me do without authenticating). I then restarted the IDE, but I get the message "You forgot your sketchbook" "Arduino cannot run because it could not create a folder to store your sketchbook" So what I had to do was change the permissions on the "Portable" folder Once I did tha...
