Re: I killed my Maple Mini

ahull, at least now I know I am not alone :)))
stevestrong, it was MM from baite. I only buy from baite. I like their maple minies and also their one-sided arduino nanos.

Re: I killed my Maple Mini

Throw some cold ice on it  I may try with some nitrogen :D I did not even understand how I managed to do this. It was connected to a board with several buttons and I was soldering some diodes to this board. Later when I switched on the power, the maple mini was not working anymore :) I cha...

I killed my Maple Mini

Hi, today I killed my Maple Mini. It does not switch on when powered from 3.3V input pin. It powers on when powered from the USB or from VIN pin, but the microcontroller is getting hot after 2-3 seconds. Any ideas how to bring it back to life :) ?

Re: Need advice: Metal detector with stm32f103

if you dig the coins in, will disturbed soil affect the test?
or do you stamp the soil back down ?

Yes,I stamp the soil. Anyway disturbed soil affects the test result, but this effect mostly occurs with VLF metal detectors, not with pulse induction.

Re: Need advice: Metal detector with stm32f103

So, the results with 20cm coil: 1€ coin - 17cm. Big gold ring - 21cm. Tomorow I will play with the damping resistor, the coil and the code and hope to double the depth. Alwso the MM and opamp are put on a socked and not dyrectly soldered to the board. When I solder them I hope to get less noice and ...

Re: Need advice: Metal detector with stm32f103

Pito, unfortunatelly such a beast does not exist :))) The deepest and best detectors in the world are the Australian "Minelab" detectors, but even their 20000$ model detects a big coin 60 centimeters in the soil. The last time I made DIY metal detector it was 30 centimeters deep for a 22mm...

Re: Need advice: Metal detector with stm32f103

Found the reason. I connected the scope GND to a wrong place :D
Now I will test the metal detector board and will write again if there is some progress.
Pito, thank you again for the answers!

Re: Need advice: Metal detector with stm32f103

Try to switch off the MM form the metal detector and source the MM from USB. Have a look at the PB1. It must give you 3.3V pulse. I did it. There is no problem from the USB. I also tried from other power supply and still there is no problem. The pulses are 3.3V. The problem occurs only when I feed ...

Re: Need advice: Metal detector with stm32f103

Yes, I'm talking about the output pulse from the MM's pin PB1. But when I took the pictures of the scope, the PB1 was not even connected to the R4. Only VIN and GND were connected. Is it possible for the 7805 to output enough voltage, but not enough current? This is the only possible reason I can su...
