Re: Does anyone have any code to play a tune on a GPIO pin

With AVR I have used this code http://elm-chan.org/works/mxb/report.html It uses the PWM peripheral of the AVR . I have not looked to see if there is a comparable function on the STM32. It is interrupt driven. Unfortunately it is written in ASM for a more functional version that plays from a SD card...

Re: Do Examples work with the STM32F4 Discovery?

I think more members who have F4 discovery have the one without the LCD. I think this has audio options. You have to look at what chip is mounted and compare it to what is is boards.txt (or the menu.) The older F4 libraries are strictly tied to the chip as they use direct register access, which is n...

Re: Eclipse importable bluepill project

edogaldo; This is the relevant section of the makefile that is working for me on the Nucleo (I do not have a blue pill.) I am using BSD under OSX. # compile gcc flags ASFLAGS = -MMD -mcpu=cortex-m3 -DF_CPU=72000000L -DARDUINO=10604 -DARDUINO_STM_NUCLEO_F103RE -DARDUINO_ARCH_HALMX -DSTM32F103xE -DSTM...

Re: Eclipse importable bluepill project

Thanks Rick, I'll try to setup it. Interesting thing: I tried to compile the bluepill project with the default SW compiler (gcc 5.2.1) and I get error: " conflicting declaration of C function 'char* utoa(long unsigned int, char*, int)' " on file "itoa.h" where utoa is defined as: extern char* utoa(...

Wi6Labs wrote: Indeed the I2C clock configuration for L4 doesn't work like F1. You must calculated for each speed a specific parameter which depends on the system clock.
You can find more information inside the file "twi.h".
So the STM32Cube MX tool is not used to configure the clock?

Re: Adding USB Serial

Hi Julie I deleted my local repo containing Vassilis's code and copied in clean code from the cube ( albeit expoted using version 1.4.0 to be compatible with the HAL files originally added by Wi6Labs) The code in the WIP branch compiles now, but the resultant binary does not run. I dont like the wa...

Re: Adding USB Serial

Those libraries are about 2 revisions back. At least they are the versions I have been testing with :) Was able to make better progress with my build script automator earlier in the week. The working makefile was built by hand using elements from the generated makefile and the board/platform.txt com...

Re: Converting 24 bit RGB to 16bit Decimal

I do a lot of postscript programming. Most systems use a LUT or indexed color. Here is a link to my favorite chart http://www.tayloredmktg.com/rgb/ There are also systems like Pantone and Munsel which give names to colors. Color is inherently non linear just ask Newton. it is also subjective and sur...

Re: Adding USB Serial

I got a bit farther along testing on the actual hardware again. I am using code from Vasillis's code from around march of 2016 which I munged into my fork of the project. I was able to hand modify the eclipse project to include the correct compiler flags. There are still quite a number of pedantic w...

Re: Adding USB Serial

I am actually working on scripting some of the build process (through ghostscript.) I need a working template first. Today I compared the working F401 makefile build to one for the F301. Instead of making a new F103 makefile I copied the F401 makefile and changed the references from F4 to F1. From t...
