STM32 BOOTLOADER

Post by stefhan8001 »

I have recently gotten a F411 board. What's more, was keen on booting from USB.

I can transfer programs through Serial or SWD alright. Yet, USB gives blunders.
Certainly the boot load activity will be something similar. Just with an alternate vehicle.
Any Flash program or confirmation mistakes would show up paying little heed to ship.

Whenever the board showed up I was unable to enter USB Boot mode by means of BOOT0 and RST buttons.
I associated by means of SWD and did a "Mass Erase" to clear any firmware that accompanied the board.

Some of the time I can get STM32 BOOTLOADER yet generally "USB gadget not perceived"
In the event that I in all actuality do figure out how to get the USB DFU transfers come up short. Both with Arduino and with STM32CubeProgrammer

Those F4x1 black pills are badly designed. Boot and reset buttons are too close to pins that are used during boot.
I've got best results when I touch USB port while resetting board, others got best results resetting boards with plastic things, so fingers won't get close to board.

Below is what I encountered:

In addition, depending on the drivers you use, the board will be recognized as:
DFU if from early DeFuse Demo
Bootloader if from STM32CubeProgrammer

In the end I keep using ST-Link to flash the boards as DFU mode do not perform consistently on my boards.
