BTW I have it blinking on one of the arduino defined pins (ARDUINO_PIN_D8) and it seems to work nicely. I had to load the binary from the command line as the nucleo flasher thing didn't work for me.

PS. I'll commit your fix, and also get rid of the - (dash) in the variant name

Whats the default upload for the ValueLine ? STLink??

I'll change it in boards.txt

Actually, it looks like I left some legacy defines from the libmaple boards.txt as part of the upload params, but I'll tidy them later after I sort out this immediate mess

BTW.

VLDiscovery lib currently does not build.

@danieleff must have built it originally, but it won't build now. I suspect its the inclusion of the USB code thats causing the problem, so more #ifdef's are needed
