adding function in forum to resize pictures

Postby madias » Sun Aug 30, 2015 8:00 am

Sadly I see no possibility to resize a posted image, like:
[img=100x50]http://www.bbcode.org/images/lubeck_small.jpg[/img]

Or did I missed something?
Sometimes it would be nice to to float a whole thread only with a picture (and everytime to download a web-pic, resize it, upload it is not comfortable ;) )

Hi Matthias

It looks like I'd need to install a "MOD" to enable PHPBB to so something like that.

Actually, I can't see a mod that does exactly what you have asked, I can find a MOD that resizes if the image is too big (over a specific size) but not one that allows the user to specify a size.

Do you know of a MOD for PHPBB that does this ?

Hi Matthias,

The page you referenced has this text

Remember that bbcode tags are implemented to varying degrees and that with many variations. None of this represents strict standards.

I guess if its not working, its because PHPBB doesnt implement this feature :-(

I've tried the image resize directly in their Playground (http://www.bbcode.org/playground.php) and it is working.
So, maybe there is another trick somewhere ... :?

Martin

I use the default install for PHPBB, so its odd it works in their playground and not here.

i can add BB Codes, but the img one was already present, so I presumed it was already configured correctly.

Perhaps there is some documentation on how to change the existing BB Cod for img to include this feature.
But the syntax for BB codes is a bit strange, so its not something I could change without an example of how to do it.
