Hello from Philippines

Post by peeknot » Thu Dec 14, 2017 3:24 pm

Good day

I`m working on a final project on the battery power management that will be powered by the STM32F103c board with st-link v2 as a , I`m literally a newbie about the board , I usually use arduino boards in my past years. How could I open the serial port of arduino for me to help the debugging state of my program , thanks

Welcome.
You can use any of the serial interfaces: Serial (USB), Serial1, Serial2,...

What do you mean about the serial sir? Sorry bout asking this stuffs ,

I`m using ST-Link /V2 to upload the code from arduino to the "blue pill" .Unfortunately I need to open the serial com for the debugging process , in the device manager the stm32-stlink /v2 was on a Universal Serial Bus devices. Base from what I understand through google search I need to install stlink virtual com port for the serial com in arduino to be used. but I got a warning on installing the driver, so basically what I`m doing this is that making the "blue pill" same as how am I using the arduino. Am I going on the wrong track? Check the image below

You have to connect a USB cable from PC to the micro USB slot of the blue pill.
The Stlink is just for upload, but it does not have serial com port.

This is the second person to think the STLink dongle has Serial.
Perhaps some vendors are falsely advertising it as having serial

When I upload the sketch from the pc to usb port of the blue pill I got this error , and when I open the COM port of the arduino I didn`t see any of serial.print that I had. Any links that will help me use the usb port as the one who upload the sketch to the blue pill

Base from the instructions from here https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... ill-Boards and successfully upload the bootloader to the bluepill can I use the usb port on uploading sketch right?

Yes, connect a USB cable from the PC to the micro USB slot and chose the "Stm32duino bootloader" upload method in Arduino IDE.
