JFClaeys: Good day from Quebec

Post by JFClaeys » Thu Feb 08, 2018 9:33 pm

Hello all.
My interest for Arduino and stm32 is new from this year, although I've always been fascinated by electronics.
Being in computer programming and payment devises since 2003, I guess it's time for me to get to bare metal and know about the circuitry.
So I bough an Arduino Uno to get a 4x4x4 led cube done and running (success there) but found out Uno was not fast enough, thus trying the stm32f103 (blue pill) start of this month.
The current cube runs with a tlc5940, a 74HC595 and 4 mosfets (to test for bigger RGB sized cube).

I'm still in the process of adapting the code and getting familiarized with stm32. Thus getting on this board/forum, to learn from the best :)
So..glad to meet you

G'Day.... ;-)

I know we have at least one other forum member from your side of Canada, called Martin.

He may see your post and reply if he's not too busy

That is interesting, I'll save back for sure!
And no, I will not write in French lol! Unless in private hehe
Thanks for letting me know, Roger.
And also, thanks for all you did/do on the platform. Really appreciated!

Welcome, JFClaeys;

I have some links which may help in this post: http://stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3111

There are a number of examples which are installed with the core files. IMO, one of the best ways to become familiar with the minor syntax changes of the STM32DUINO is to review, compile-link, and upload a few examples. A significant effort has been made to stay closely aligned with the official Arduino methodology while deviating to unleash the full potential of the STM32 devices.

Have fun.

Ray
