Wireless UART bootloader

Post by JohnL » Mon Mar 28, 2016 12:06 am

Looking for reliable wireless (RF) UART bootloading options.

Standard built in serial UART bootloader does not work with ST windows GUI (Flash loader demonstrator) due to wireless inconsistent/variable handshaking timing.

Are there any other tested options?

@jcw was investigating a new bootloader which may have included wireless updates, but he has not been active on the forum for quite a while.

you could checkout @jcw's own website (search on jeelabs).. he may have continued work on it.

if for wireless you can use Bluetooth, i tested a simply hc06 module on serial bootloader pin, and it work regularly.
I tested it on a Bluepill, so i manually need change the boot jumper and manually press the reset button

I used to use HC-05 with arduino and it worked.
There is a trick how to force the HC-05 to generate a reset pulse (via the 100nF capacitor) such it did the reset automatically.
