Split breadboard holder for pills

Post by arpruss » Sun Oct 22, 2017 3:06 am

Putting one of the pill dev boards in a standard breadboard wastes a lot of space. So I cut a breadboard in half and 3D printed a holder that puts the two halves some distance away, leaving more breadboard space. In case anybody is interested, the design is here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2599317

You can customize it to fit your breadboards. I cut my breadboard with a hacksaw.

the 'power rail' can also be used; also works well with the esp8266 wider modules.
you can also double or triple them to increase the number of exposed holes for some boards i have.

be aware of the continuity break in the middle of some power rails :-)
using long pinned sockets in uno boards works as well, sadly it's usually a one time only insertion.
the pin length is flexible enough to counter the D7 D8 offset as well.

just make sure you buy the bread boards in at least pairs from any one vendor, i've at least 3 different ones, with variation in the width, depth & spacing of the tabs. not a lot, but just enough :(

now how to handle the 24x2 / 32x2 as on for example Black 407's :?:
