[SOLVED] STM32L072 from Arduino IDE

Post by davidb » Sun Feb 11, 2018 3:15 pm

I am doing my first steps in programming the STM32L072 board with the Arduino IDE. However, I just can't make it work. I am using Arduino IDE 1.8.5 and installed the board files through the board manager, following the procedure described on https://github.com/stm32duino/Arduino_Core_STM32.

However, when I try to compile the blink sketch, I see the error "'Files' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

I never came across this one before. Google didn't help out and neither did a search in this forum.

I tried both 'Mass storage' and 'ST-Link' as upload method, but with the same result, same when I just hit 'compile', so I suppose the error is somehere in the compiling chain.

Anyone else encountered this before? I already did a reinstall, but with the same results.

Hi davidb,
there is an issue with the last release when path contains space. Mainly when Arduino IDE is installed in its default directory "C:\Program Files (x86)", The "'Files' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." comes from this.
It will be fixed in the next release.
See https://github.com/stm32duino/Arduino_C ... 2/pull/204
You could do the change in the platform.txt

Aha, thanks for the quick reply! I just tried the 2017.11.24 version and that one is working fine. But good to have the info now to switch back to the most up to date version.

Cheers,

David

Welcome
sorry for this issue, I did not test with standard installation path.
On Windows, I install Arduino in a short path without space to avoid any issue with path length or space...

Oh well, maybe it's a good idea anyways to avoid paths without spaces, to avoid library conflicts. Thanks for the tip. ;)
