Response from Leaflabs about their API Docs pages

Post by RogerClark » Tue Jan 23, 2018 4:58 am

Guys

As the Leaflabs API docs get used a lot, I thought I'd try contain Leaflabs (again), to ask whether it would be OK to make a copy of those docs e.g. onto GitHub so that they would be backed up in case Leaflabs decided to shut down the pages.

I got a great response from them, saying that they know that LibMaple is still used a lot by the community and intend to keep the pages active.

They also pointed out that the source (markup) for a lot of those pages (possbly all), is actually already in github

https://github.com/leaflabs/leaflabs-docs

So I will fork that repo and when I get time, investigate which tools are used to generate the static HTML pages from those source (markup) pages.

Great!
That means, the libmaple core will have some future. ;)

Well, it gives us a way to update the API docs and put them somewhere else if we want.

Probably even put them as static html pages back on github somewhere.

I doubt the static pages of API docs are that big, perhaps I could put them inside my Arduino_STM32 repo
