Rick I think the blue pills are so cheap and widely available, nothing will come close, and I agree with you people looking for more resources will probably jump to an F4. It's easier to find an F407 that an F103RET, and about the same cost.

Keep the poll open for longer, perhaps make it a sticky and keep it for much longer?

Voted on "other". It is a custom board with an STM32F103RB and peripheral hardware, no USB (program via serial).

oh btw i've got this board
https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/S ... e-hardware
it is a STM32F103 RB
the price tag would certainly look bigger than aliexpress/ebay BP/MM
but for its price, some of the features actually looked pretty good, with things like separate LDO regulator for analog and digital, on board uSD card slot, LI-PO power supply option with *on-board* charger, arduino headers and last but not least which i consider pretty important, Olimex did pretty good manuals and released board schematics and layout and placed them on its product site.
it is actually my first 'newbie' board, i found the well documented manuals really help me get started and when after a long while i want to play with the board itself again, i can 'think through my design' simply finding all the necessary details from the manual and schematic
:)

strangely it is listed as not supported in the wiki, http://wiki.stm32duino.com/index.php?ti ... _64_pin.29
but initially i did successfully build sketches using the old maple ide and the old bundled libmaple to do basic blink tests, i've also successfully used this board with a DF robot lcd keypad shield
https://www.dfrobot.com/product-51.html
i'm not sure about the boot loader though, i still have the old maple bootloader in the board rather than stm32duino boot loader
