FYI JLink users who readprotect their binaries

Post by RogerClark » Mon Feb 05, 2018 10:39 pm

Guys,

I don't think this applies to 99.99% of the people on this forum, but I noticed someone post about a problem with the latest Segger JLink software, which automatically does a Mass Erase if you connect to a Read Protected chip !!!

See

Basically this is a byproduct of it not being able to connect, and noticing that the chip is read protected, so it goes right ahead and unprotects it, which of course causes a Mass Erase of the whole chip
