jtag usb blaster clone has stm32101

Post by paultz » Fri Jun 09, 2017 5:57 am

i was looking at a usb blaster teardown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0K9FYcF-T8
it has a STM32F101CBT6 and a 74hc244d octal buffer,(which the stlink clones lack) , some extra pins of the stm32 are broken out internally
it has an 8mhz crystal

could be a good black magic probe candidate ?

cheap on ebay at aud $3.78 or usd $2.78 if you get the stm32 version and not the CY7C68013A version that
apparently the chinese cloners no longer make for cost reasons

Thats interesting.

I am not sure if its the cheapest option to convert to BMP.

Just using a BluePill is probabiy the cheapest option, and then possibky one if the cheap STLink clones.

But, The downside of the STLink clones as BMP seems to be the pullup and series resistors on the pins that can be used as the Serial connection.
