Using the WeAct STM32H743VIT6 with Arduino IDE

Post by SomeRandomBalkan »

First of all im completely new to the STM32 platform, ive only ever used Arduinos before but a local store sold these WeAct STM32H7 boards and i thought why not try something new. I even bought a STLink V2 as the seller advised so i can interact with the board.

The thing is i followed online videos of how to setup STLink, drivers and downloaded the necessary stuff for the IDE but cant seem to get it to work, i even downloaded the STM32CubeProgrammer to try to connect to the board which worked thru the USB using the DFU but not with the STLink.

My main goal is to be able to use it just like a Arduino, simple plug and upload like i see other people do but im unsure of what to do, i even found something on their github but most of it is Chinese.

Any help would be amazing!

Seems like i figured it out (a pretty stupid mistake). Even tho it says nothing is connected in the Arduino IDE you just need to switch to DFU upload method and upload your code.
