You can get an M4 Photon board with WiFi for $20.

Or, one can buy a Maple Mini + ESP8266 for around $6 USD. What is the point of needless compares?

There is a ready made V2 bootloader (*.bin) for the maple REV5:
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... 1/binaries
Descriptions read here:
https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... bootloader

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I just tried STM32duino bootloader on Maple r5, and it doesn't seem to work without following change: https://github.com/rogerclarkmelbourne/ ... er/pull/20

However, with this change, it works like a charm. Hopefully, this will be helpful to somebody else.

This one is the "feature winner" viewtopic.php?f=28&t=490 ---> actual on ali: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/ARM-Cort ... 5,201560_1

i know that although support for f4 is still currently developing, the 407vet is about the same price with pretty much same feature set £9.37
so items from my aliexpress order list are
its brothers with a 407zet/igt are about £11-£13.50

a pin compatible ili9341 is to me rather expensive at £15
