stm32f4 mac osx 10.8

Post by mubase » Mon Jun 08, 2015 12:24 pm

Last night I thought I'd see if my stm32f4 discovery board would work on my GF's Mac. Osx 10.8.5
The platform.text file in the STM32f4 core is set to upload using st link as stated in line 127:

tools.stlink.cmd=stlink

The Path to the stlink exe is defined in line 130:

tools.stlink.path={runtime.hardware.path}/tools/win

By changing the path to tools/macosx and the cmd to stlink_upload I got programs compiling and uploading without any hitches to my board. Oh, except that after the program uploads, I needed to press the black reset program for it to start...
Nice.

If you have a bit of time to experiment, you may even be able to avoid pushing the reset button and re-enumerating the serial device after the upload.

If you look at the linux version of the stlink_upload script, it is has a couple of extra tricks. I don't have a Mac at the moment, so I haven't investigated getting this to work on OSX
