the gasket blew or lengthened studs allowed pressure leak?
they're rather different failures.

and so, what's the next item/component in the failure tree?

Studs lengthened.

Next component failure will be well beyond the amount of power that could be made from the head without porting & increasing valve sizes.

These are the Blue PIlls that I ordered so that I can play around with debugging in VSCode (amongst other things).

Fingers crossed they've not got the dodgy USB resistors - although will be programming with SWD mainly.

Also snagged a couple of ESP32 boards to have a fiddle with - this slightly work related from an IoT perspective.

The RobotDyn boards ( black coloured boards) appear to be the best ones to buy at the moment.

They sell through their own site and also on Aliexpress.

Though I don’t think it’s worth paying 80 cents more for the version with the bootloader pre-installed, as all those 80 cents add up if you buy, 5 or 10 boards.

Blue Pill's arrived, R10 is incorrect value, but they seem to work fine. Was able to flash bootloader with STLINK and then upload blinky successfully.

Need to create a BluePill version of my project now to take care of pin allocations.

Will try debugging in vscode later.

For some reason the attachment is not visible.

Does this VSCode Arduino plugin use Arduino framework for building, i.e. you can build project what is visible under "hardware" folder ?

I can't get over how cheap these bluepills have become.

Cheapest today is £1.49 At that price they really are "cheap as chips"... if not cheaper.
