Virtual com port not showing????

Post by Nutsy » Mon Jan 15, 2018 1:27 pm

My STM32F407ZGT6 board finally turned up (only took over a month D:)

I installed the STM virtual com port, and installed the windows 8 64bit thing (the two part install as far as i can tell?)

Connecting the usb to the board shows up 2 USB storage devices... I assume these are the SDcard and built in 12MB flash chip... i managed to format the flash chip in FAT, but still cant view the drive to copy files over... Anyway im getting side tracked...

The Virtual com port doesnt show up when I connect the board. And Arduino IDE doesnt see anything other than my computers COM1 port...

What am I missing? Im also using the generic core branch for this board, as so far its the only one that lists the ZGT6 variety...

You have to upload a sketch with usb serial in order to see the COMxx, imho.
I got 407ZET6 and it worked fine (Win7).
UPload via STLink..
Or built in DFU - viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1976&p=26189&hilit ... 407#p26203
We do not have a bootloader for 407, afaik.
