Fixed a few STM32F1 compiler warnings

Seems reasonable but would need various people to test it, as there are many small changes

And many unnecessary changes, some of them seem to be wrong. I have commented on github.

Roger, I think we talked about it some time ago in the forum, but I'm not sure if it was implemented.
We discussed on saving stable branches, and then keeping updates in the master. When we think a master one has no bugs and enough additions, then make make a new stable branch out of it.
Was that done or did you decide for a different to manage that?

I decided to make the master the cutting edge, but to use the GitHub Releass system for the stable versions
