(SOLVED) Re: HELP! ST-Link message "UR connection mode is defined with the HWrst reset mode"

Found it. In the STM32CubeProgrammer I have to set:

- top right type-dropdown "ST-LINK"
- Port "SWD"
- Mode "HotPlug"
- Reset mode "Software Reset"
- Speed "Fast"
- Shared "enabled" this is the key setting

With the ST-Link not connected to USB clicking the top right Refresh icon the Serial Number field reads "No ST-LINK detected"

Connectintg ST_Link to USB by itself does nothing. Clicking Refresh icon the Serial Number appears (a good 30 digits)

Now clicking connect does exactly that: it connects,
all settings fields are greyed out and at the very top right corner ist reads "connected"
but most imporantly the Center Display show hex and ascii data from the device !!!

Warning: setting Port to JTAG will result in a misleading error message of "DEV_UNKNOWN_MCU_TARGET" in the log area in the center/bottow of the app

Same Win10 PC where perviously I could not get the ST-Cube Programmer to connect, somehow I overlooked the Shared:Enabled Setting

HTH
